No Interest? No Problem! How to Get Noticed by Coaches in 90 Days

The recruiting strategy for athletes evolves dynamically based on the level of interest generated from coaches and programs. Interest is the currency of recruitment - it dictates how much attention you receive and how you adjust your approach.

In stage 1, when I have no interest at all - during the first 90 days, the first three months of the recruiting process - the goal is simple: You need to generate as much interest as possible from coaches and then build relationships with them.

To get interest, the strategy is straightforward: post on Twitter at least two times per week, DM coaches, and email coaches every single day. Fill out questionnaires and follow up on the emails every single week.

That follow-up is probably the most important part because most of the DMs and emails, from what we've seen, do not even get responded to or probably don't even get seen. It's really about those follow-ups; most responses are going to come from the third or even fourth follow-up. We've even had some recruits receive offers after the seventh or eighth follow-up, so you have to stick to the process.
