Worried a Coach Hasn’t Replied Yet? Don’t Panic
Slow responses are normal in recruiting. Stay patient, stay consistent—and keep reaching out with the right tools.
Don’t Stress Over Coach Response Times in Recruiting
I know a lot of parents get anxious about response times from college coaches during recruiting, but honestly, it’s not something you need to worry about too much.
Of course, a quick reply can feel exciting and might show interest, but if it takes a coach a week or two to get back to you, that doesn’t mean they’re not genuinely interested in your child.
Take this scenario: after a showcase, you send a coach a message saying how much you loved being there, along with some video. You shouldn’t expect an answer right away. When coaches come back from events, they’re swamped with piles of paperwork, phone calls, coaching their team, and so much more.
It’s similar to when you travel; it takes time to readjust. So, be patient. They have a lot on their plate, and a slow response doesn’t mean they’re not considering your kid.
